Dear Friends,
Samuel Rutherford urged, “Christ and His cross are not separable in this life. Howbeit Christ and His cross part at heaven’s door, for there is no house-room for crosses in heaven. One tear, one sigh, one sad heart, one fear, one loss, one thought of trouble cannot find lodging there.”
1. TRUMP PAUSES MOST TARIFFS, SLAPS 145% TARIFFS ON CHINA: Just hours after the planned reciprocal tariffs took effect, President Donald Trump paused the scheduled tariffs on all countries for 90 days, with the exception of China, which he raised to 145%.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent revealed that while 75 countries asked to negotiate trade with the United States, China retaliated by raising tariffs. China has now raised its tariffs on the U.S. to 125%.
President Trump explained, “I did a 90-day pause for the people that didn’t retaliate, because I told them, ‘If you retaliate, we’re going to double it.’ And that’s what I did with China, because they did retaliate.” Trump said, “Hopefully, in the near future, China will realize that the days of ripping off the U.S.A., and other Countries, is no longer sustainable or acceptable.”
Following the announcement, U.S. stocks surged, Goldman Sachs rescinded its recession call, the European Union paused previously scheduled retaliatory tariffs, and Amazon canceled multiple wholesale orders for products made in China and other Asian countries.
Trump advisor Stephen Miller declared, “The days of China pillaging America are over.”
Business analyst Charles Gasparino said China’s “economic miracle” is “based on slave labor and stealing trade secrets” and that China’s economy is “horrible.”
China expert Alexander Liao said, “Washington has many cards. Beijing has few.” But China expert James Lewis warned, “China is not going to give up, and they’ve been planning on how to deal with this since at least November.”
Center for Security Policy’s Frank Gaffney stated, “The CCP is at war with America. It makes no secret of seeking our destruction using pre-kinetic ‘unrestricted warfare,’ notably including predatory trade.”
In addition to China tariffs, 10% tariffs will remain on all countries, 25% tariffs on automobile, steel, and aluminum imports, and 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico.

2. TRUMP ADMINISTRATION PROMOTES TARIFFS TO SAVE WORKING AMERICANS: President Trump stated, “I’m proud to be the President for the workers, not the outsourcers; the President who stands up for Main Street, not Wall Street; who protects the middle class, not the political class; and who defends America, not trade cheaters all over the globe.”
Trump Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said, “I know everyone’s concerned about Wall Street. I’m just concerned about Main Street.”
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent explained, “The top 10% of Americans own 88% of equities. The next 40% owns 12% of the stock market. The bottom 50% has debt. They have credit card bills, they rent their homes, they have auto loans, and we’ve got to give them some relief.”
Bessent said, “For the next four years, the Trump agenda is focused on Main Street… It’s Main Street’s turn to restore the American dream.”
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick contended, “We can’t be a nation that invents everything but has everything built somewhere else. Eventually, you become subservient to the people who build things for you…and if you also allow these giant trade deficits…the rest of the world also owns you.”
Ed. Note: The Heritage Foundation’s Kevin Roberts said, “Tariffs are most effective when paired with a broad array of conservative policies that alleviate economic pain on the American people. While Trump works to liberate us from foreign abuses, congressional Republicans must fight to liberate Americans from the burdens of federal regulations, mandates, and taxes.”
3. SUPREME COURT REBUKES ROGUE JUDGES: The Supreme Court ruled 5-4 to overturn Judge James Boasberg’s temporary restraining orders prohibiting the Trump administration from deporting illegal Venezuelan gang members under the 1798 Alien Enemies Act. Justice Amy Coney Barrett sided with the three liberals, while Chief Justice John Roberts, who previously defended Boasberg, joined Justices Thomas, Alito, Gorsuch, and Kavanaugh.
The majority said that the gang members should be given due process, but that “judicial review” should occur in a Texas court rather than in D.C.
President Trump called the ruling “a great day for justice in America.”
Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) said the ruling “provides only a temporary reprieve” and urged the Supreme Court “to do far more to rein in district judges who are exceeding their constitutional authority.”
In another win for Trump, the Supreme Court blocked a lower court ruling ordering the Trump administration to rehire over 16,000 bureaucrats.
4. MARXISTS FUND MASS PROTESTS: Protestors gathered at 1,300 “Hands Off!” rallies in all 50 states to protest President Trump and Elon Musk. Organizers said they are demanding Trump and Musk “Take your hands off our healthcare, our Social Security, our civil rights, our freedom, and our education.”
Mainstream media claimed the protests were grassroots efforts. However, the organizer, Indivisible, has received almost $8 million from George Soros since 2017, along with funding from the Tides Foundation, the same group that funded many Black Lives Matter riots. Indivisible helped support the recent Tesla vandalism, and partners with other far-left organizations, including Planned Parenthood, Democratic Socialists of America, and the ACLU.
The Communist Party USA enthusiastically endorsed the protests.
5. LEFTISTS INCREASINGLY EMBRACE VIOLENCE: 55% of left-leaning Americans said assassinating Trump would be “somewhat justified,” and 48% said the same of Elon Musk, according to a bombshell survey from the Network Contagion Research Institute (NCRI). Lead report author Joel Finkelstein assessed, “What was formerly taboo culturally has become acceptable.”
The NCRI cited an uptick in the legitimization of assassination and vandalism (i.e., Telsa burnings) following the December assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. The report said the “emergent assassination culture” is “grounded in far-left authoritarianism and increasingly normalized in digital discourse.”
Just last week, an unhinged leftist vented his anger against the pharmaceutical industry by murdering a California Walgreens employee, who was also a husband and father of two children.
Karmelo Anthony, the black 17-year-old accused of murdering Austin Metcalf at a Texas track meet last week, has already raised $250,000 in donations for his legal defense fund.
Charlie Kirk warned, “The left is being whipped into a violent frenzy. Any setback, whether losing an election or losing a court case, justifies a maximally violent response. This is the natural outgrowth of left-wing protest culture tolerating violence and mayhem for years on end. The cowardice of local prosecutors and school officials have turned the left into a ticking time bomb.”
Ed. Note: Saul Alinsky, mentor to Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, once claimed, “It is a world not of angels but of angles, where men speak of moral principles but act on power principles; a world where we are always moral and our enemies always immoral.”
6. SELF-DEPORTATIONS INCREASE: The Department of Homeland Security revoked the legal status of nearly one million individuals allowed to enter the U.S. via the CBP One app. A DHS spokesperson stated, “Formal termination notices have been issued, and affected aliens are urged to voluntarily self-deport using the CBP Home App. Those who refuse will be found, removed, and permanently barred from reentry.”
The New York Times reports that the Trump administration has begun canceling social security numbers for illegals, cutting them off from “financial services” and “government benefits.”
The DHS is moving to fine illegals who refuse to leave up to $988 a day and seize their property, under a 1996 law.
The New York Times reports that an increasing number of illegals are considering self-deportation, stressing, “Recent border crossers are much more likely to consider departing. I interviewed several young men from Venezuela who are among them. They see footage of shackled migrants shuffled onto deportation planes. They watch the videos of more than 200 Venezuelan men, accused by the Trump administration of gang affiliation, being flown to a mega-prison in El Salvador… Rather than risk subjecting themselves to that ordeal, they want to leave on their own terms.”
7. KASH PATEL PROMOTES J6 INQUISITOR TO POWERFUL POSITION: Conservatives reacted with alarm to the appointment of Steven J. Jensen as assistant director for the powerful Washington, D.C., Field Office. Retired FBI national security intelligence supervisor George Hill said Jensen “built the construct for the January 6 witch hunt.”
Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton stated, “He was a key figure in this domestic terror push against January Sixers, according to testimony before the House. He treated them all as terrorists and was one of the key instigators in pushing the narrative within the bureaucracy that these folks needed to be jailed and ferreted out.”
However, independent journalist Julie Kelly asserted that Jensen departed from the Counterterrorism Division (CTD) for the Domestic Terrorism Operations Section after his “opposition to considering ‘threats’ made by parents as terror incidents.” Kelly added, “While there is no question he was involved in the early stages of the J6 investigation, it appears Jensen also had doubts about how the investigation was proceeding.”
FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino thanked conservatives for their feedback and asked for patience as developments continue.
8. TRUMP INVESTIGATES ELECTION RIGGER CHRIS KREBS: President Trump directed the Department of Justice and other agencies to revoke the security clearance of Chris Krebs and investigate Krebs over his actions as former Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). Trump called Krebs a “fraud” and a “disgrace.”
As head of the CISA, Krebs colluded with the Department of Homeland Security and private entities to censor dissenting speech regarding COVID-19 and the rigged 2020 election. On November 12, 2020, Krebs infamously stated, “The 2020 election was the most secure in U.S. history.”
Krebs was ultimately fired by Trump over the objections of acting DHS head Chad Wolf, but rehired by the Biden administration to lead its vast and illegal censorship enterprise.
Krebs previously said, “The job wasn’t done until January 20, 2021,” the day Joe Biden was illegitimately installed as President.
In related news, President Trump launched an investigation into Susman Godfrey LLP, the law firm that secured Dominion Voting System’s $787.5 million settlement from Fox News.
Ed. Note: See more on Krebs here.
9. PERSECUTION OF CHRISTIANS ON THE RISE: International Christian Concern reports that new Chinese restrictions set to take effect on May 1 “prohibit foreigners from preaching, sharing their faith, or establishing religious organizations without official government approval.”
Human Rights Pakistan reports an alarming surge in the persecution of Christians and religious minorities in the first three months of 2025, including more “attacks, murders, blasphemy charges, abductions, forced conversions, and forced marriages.”
The Gatestone Institute reports that the West is turning “a blind eye” as Islamic jihadists are “murdering, raping, torturing, kidnapping, enslaving, and, in some instances, burning people alive – across Africa, and now in Syria.”
In Kenya, a mother of six was stabbed to death by her husband after attending a church service.
In Nigeria, Fulani Muslim terrorists killed over 60 Christians.
Ed. Note: Jesus said, “On this rock, will I build My church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:18).
10. COLORADO ACCELERATES WAR ON FAMILY: Colorado’s Democrat-controlled legislature rammed through the “Reproductive Health Equity Act,” a bill that would codify abortion until birth and force taxpayers to fund baby murder. “183 makes Colorado the feticide capitol of the world,” lamented State Rep. Ken deGraff (R).
The state House also passed a bill that would define opposing transgenderism as child abuse and kidnap children from parents who oppose “gender-affirming care.” Heritage Action’s Kristen Christensen warned, “This legislation seeks to impose radical gender ideology on Colorado families by penalizing parents for ‘misgendering’ or ‘deadnaming’ their children in custody disputes, effectively weaponizing the state against parents who prioritize biological reality and constitutional rights over compelled speech.”
Colorado-based Southern Baptist Pastor Chase Davis wrote, “Colorado is rapidly becoming one of the nation’s most ‘progressive’ states… Radically opposed to God, family, life, marriage, and basic human biology and aggressively hostile to anyone who holds historic conservative and Christian beliefs on these issues.”
Libs of TikTok stated, “Democrats are the party of delusion and child grooming.”
Auron MacIntyre said, “The left is a malicious force that will steal and mutilate your children. They must be denied political power at every level.”
11. TRUMP DECLASSIFIES RUSSIAN COLLUSION DOCUMENTS: The Trump administration declassified nearly 700 pages of records from the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane investigation into Trump’s alleged “Russian collusion.” The Deep State, the Biden administration, and mainstream media spent years trying to hide the documents.
One document reveals that FBI informant Stefan Halper, who received $1.2 million over three decades, falsely claimed that Gen. Michael Flynn left an overseas conference with Russian women.
Reporter Paul Sperry noted, “In May 2017, then-Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein recruited Attorney Jeff Sessions and DHS Secretary John Kelly as 2 of the 8 Cabinet members needed to remove President Trump from office under 25th Amendment…”
However, journalist Jeff Carlson lamented that the new release contained no documents regarding Barack Obama, John Brennan, and the CIA.
12. STUDY HIGHLIGHTS DANGERS OF COVID VACCINES: A new meta-analysis of 15 studies and 85 million individuals links COVID-19 mRNA vaccinations to increased risks of stroke (+240%), heart attack (+286%), coronary artery disease (+244%), and arrhythmia (+199%).
Epidemiologist Nicolas Hulscher urged, “As each day passes, a new study is published that reveals the serious harms of the COVID-19 genetic countermeasures. They must be removed from global markets immediately.”
Dr. Bret Weinstein stated, “The evidence continues to mount: The mRNA platform itself is causing damage to organs across the body by triggering the patient’s own T-Cells to attack and destroy transected tissue.”
13. TRUMP AGENDA:
- The U.S. Senate voted 60-25 to confirm retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Dan “Razin” Caine as Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman and 54-45 to confirm Elbridge Colby as Undersecretary of Defense for policy.
- Democrats, including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) are suing to block Trump’s executive order stopping fraud and noncitizen voting.
- The U.S. House voted 216-214 to pass the Senate’s budget resolution framework, with Republicans Victoria Spartz (IN) and Thomas Massie (KY) joining all Democrats in opposition. Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) explained that he reluctantly supported the measure based on “three specific commitments” for the final bill.
- Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth signed a deal with Panama to expand American troop presence in the region and counter the CCP’s “malign influence.”
- President Trump ordered an investigation into former DHS chief of staff Myles Taylor, who bragged about undermining Trump’s first term.
- Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt revealed, “Inflation fell to 2.4% in March, smashing expectations for the second month in a row. This marked the first drop in consumer prices since the COVID pandemic.”
14. NOTEWORTHY STORIES:
- Ryan Routh, Trump’s wannabe assassin, tried to obtain an RPG [rocket propelled grenade] or stinger missile, according to the DOJ.
- In his interview with Tucker Carlson, Infowars founder Alex Jones revealed that the Department of Justice funded over $4 million to the Sandy Hook lawsuits in an attempt to take him off the air.

- “The military was funding the tick viruses in the same lab as COVID… It’s the same playbook.” –Mike Benz

- “I don’t know how many times in the last five years I’ve had congressmen ask me, can you leave your cell phone outside? Let’s go for a walk. You’re carrying any electronics? Do you have an Apple Watch? And then they’ll say, outside as we’re walking, quietly, the CIA is monitoring everything that we’re doing in Congress.” –Glenn Beck
- “We have evidence of how these electronic voting systems have been vulnerable to hackers for a very long time and vulnerable to exploitation to manipulate the results of the votes being cast, which further drives forward your mandate to bring about paper ballots across the country so that voters can have faith in the integrity of our elections.” –DNI Tulsi Gabbard
- “Meta isn’t an exemplar of our free market but its saboteur. Buying up companies with anticompetitive intent isn’t ‘the free market.’ Conspiring with government to silence dissent is not ‘the free market.’ Collaborating with genocidal, totalitarian enemies of the United States is not ‘the free market.’” –Rachel Bovard
- “They [China] are openly saying we are sequencing as much as we can of the world population looking for genes for intelligence. That’s not a hidden thing.” –Biotech entrepreneur Ben Lamm
16. NOTEWORTHY QUOTES:

So, could I call myself a doctor if I didn’t speak up against it?” –Dr. Ethan Haim

Once that attitude of universal dissatisfaction with one’s plight overwhelms any joy we might take in achievement, no product and no substance can repair the damage.” –Jeffrey A. Tucker
- “It has been said that the essence of teaching is causing another to know. It may similarly be said that the essence of training is causing another to do. Teaching gives knowledge. Training gives skill. Teaching fills the mind. Training shapes the habits. Teaching brings to the child that which he did not have before. Training enables a child to make use of that which is already his possession.” –Henry Clay Trumbull, 1890
- “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” –Hebrews 4:12

We hope to see all states secure their medical freedom rights as we have in the great state of Idaho.”

This law provides a sensible balancing test for courts to use when reviewing government policies that infringe upon the religious freedom rights of Georgians.”
6. ABORTION MILLS CLOSE IN MICHIGAN: Planned Parenthood closed three abortion mills in Michigan, citing funding cuts from the Trump administration. Kevin Weed of St. Michael High School stated, “Many people are attributing the closing to the Trump administration’s cutting of funds, which I’m sure makes a big difference. HYMN OF THE WEEK
Let My Faith Take Hold On Thee by Fanny Crosby
Thou who knowest all my weakness,
Thou whose eye my heart can see;
In my hour of deepest trial,
Let my faith take hold on Thee!
Firm and fearless may I ever
Tread the path designed for me!
And though thorns may sometimes pierce me,
Let my faith take hold on Thee.
Faith that smiles when skies are frowning,
Faith that mountains can remove,
Faith that purifies by suff’ring,
Calmly, sweetly works by love.
While I feel Thy presence with me,
While I feel Thy gracious hand,
Gladly will I do Thy bidding,
Only waiting Thy command.
Till the storms of life are over,
This my daily prayer shall be:
Lord, uphold me with Thy Spirit,
Let my faith abide in Thee!
Firm and fearless may I ever
Tread the path designed for me!
And though thorns may sometimes pierce me,
Let my faith take hold on Thee.
